Prem Krishnamurthy

As a co-founder of multidisciplinary design studio Project Projects, Prem Krishnamurthy has worked with museums, artists, architects, and non-profit organizations internationally to create visual identities, exhibitions, books, and interactive platforms. Project Projects recently received the Cooper Hewitt’s 2015 National Design Award for Communication Design, the USA’s highest distinction in the field. Prem is also the director/curator of P!, a critically-acclaimed gallery space in New York City’s Chinatown that reinvents existing exhibition and institutional formats through collaborations with artists and designers. In addition to editing books such as Draw It With Your Eyes Closed: The Art of the Art Assignment (Paper Monument, 2012) and Speculation, Now (Duke University Press, 2015), he is an active educator and speaker. Prem is currently on faculty at the Bard College Center for Curatorial Studies.

In his talk, Prem will focus on the overlaps, intersections, parallels, and contradictions of a creative practice that spans graphic design, curating, editing, teaching, and more.

With support from AIGA Detroit and the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA).

Unless otherwise noted, all programs take place on Thursdays at 5:10 pm at the historic Michigan Theater, located at 603 E. Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor, and are free of charge and open to the public.
