Katherine H Downie is a Southeast Michigan-based artist who has taught art to students of all ages in a wide variety of settings, including as a Painting Lecturer at the University of Michigan, at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, as a K-8 art teacher at a charter school, and in Continuing Education classes for 3-93 year-olds. She is a former Artist-in-Residence on Mackinac Island and is the current Restaurant Review Illustrator for the Ann Arbor Observer. Katherine also serves as the volunteer Chair of the City of Saline Arts & Culture Committee, and is the head of the Meredith Bixby Marionette Trust.

Katherine is a painter and mixed-media artist, whose paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries across the state of Michigan. In addition, her work is in many private and corporate collections. She is the recipient of numerous awards both for artistic and academic achievements, and is an advocate for artists of all ages.
