The Glassworks of Frederick Birkhill
In Fall 2019, Frederick Birkhill (BFA 1986) will be featured in an artist monograph entitled The Glassworks of Frederick Birkhill, published by The Artist Book Foundation. This retrospective of Birkhill’s work with glass was photographed by Henry Leutwyler and includes essays from leading authorities from the world of glass, including Samantha DeTillio for The Museum of Art and Design NYC; Amy Schwartz from the studio of the Corning Museum of Glass; Dr. Dedo von Kersenbeck from The Dusseldorf Glass Museum; and Toronto-based artists Dr. Doreen Reid and Stuart Reid. Plans are currently underway for a new exhibition of Frederick’s work to coincide with the book’s release.
