Sophia Brueckner Interviewed by Digital Village

Clear Two Hands

Stamps Assistant Professor Sophia Brueckner was interviewed by Digital Village, the oldest running technology radio show in Los Angeles, about her essay Sharing Isn’t Broadcasting” for their holiday special. Listen to the full episode here. In her essay, Bruekner writes,

Sharing is a way of connecting with people. Sharing is supposed to be a vulnerable and empathetic action. These positive connotations are exactly why tech companies decided to use the word share’. As a result, sharing’ online has come to mean broadcasting monetizable content.”
