Shiva Ahmadi’s work is featured in Artist in Exile: Creativity, Activism, and the Diasporic Experience, on display Apr. 8 through May 3 at Geoffrey Yeh Art Gallery on the campus of St. John’s University in NYC.

The exhibition showcases recent works, including paintings, photography, and video by Shiva Ahmadi, Shoja Azari, Pouran Jinchi, Hadieh Shafie and Lara Tabet. These artists’ alternative perspectives address issues of innovation, displacement, and identity as tension and conflict, as well as the impact and challenges of mobility and migration on aesthetic experimentation and creative strategies.
