Ruth Burke: Animal Studies Symposium
Stamps MFA candidate Ruth Burke will present a talk titled becoming cow/becoming horse at the Animal Studies Rackham Interdisciplinary Workshop’s culminating symposium.
The Animal Studies Workshop is an interdisciplinary group that brings together graduate students and faculty members to share, discuss, and investigate ideas about “the animal,” human-animal relationships, animality, human exceptionalism, and the inhuman using a variety of critical lenses. As such, we are interested in generating conversations that probe the methodological reach of various theoretical approaches to animal studies and explore the dynamic edge spaces where new discourses are emerging.
