Stamps Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor Roland Graf recently received his first US util­ity patent (US 9,547,162 B2), which includes 14 claims related to a range of inter­ac­tive pro­jec­tion sys­tems that were devel­oped in his Day­light Media Lab. The United States Patent and Trade­mark Office issued the patent on Jan 172017.

The present dis­clo­sure relates to an inter­ac­tive pro­jec­tion sys­tem and, more par­tic­u­larly, relates to an inter­ac­tive pro­jec­tion sys­tem employ­ing sun­light and/​or arti­fi­cial light to pro­duce sta­tic and/​or dynamic images on indoor or out­door sur­faces that can be con­trolled by body and shadow move­ment, with­out the use of sep­a­rate input devices or wearables.”
