Nick Tobier & Charlie Michaels: Artists in Residence in Windsor
Associate Professor Nick Tobier and Detroit Connections Coordinator Charlie Michaels will be Artists in Residence during Broken City Lab’s “Homework: Infrastructures & Collaboration in Social Practices” residency and conference in Windsor, Ontario from October 17 — 22 2011.
HOMEWORK: Infrastructures & Collaboration in Social Practices is four-day residency, two-day conference, and collaboratively-written publication aimed at generating conversation around the following: alternative infrastructures, radical collaboration, social practice, art implicated in social change, neighbourhood-level activities, city-wide imaginations, site-specific curiosities, tactical resistance, new models for art education and research.
Organized by Broken City Lab, an artist-led interdisciplinary creative research collective and non-profit organization working to explore and unfold curiosities around locality, infrastructures, and creative practice leading towards civic change. Registration for the conference held on on October 21 and 22, 2011 is free.
