In her first solo exhibition, opening July 12 at Re:View Contemporary, Detroit, Melanie Manos (MFA ‘08) presents A Heightened State: a multi-media installation including very tall drawings with very small people, sculpture, video projection and digital images. The exhibit is motivated by phenomenological responses to built and natural environments, a disproportionate sense of scale, the hubris of humankind, and Japanese vertical landscapes. Opening reception is Saturday July 12, 2014, 6 – 9 pm with a new solo and place-specific performance by Manos at 8:30 pm.
