Meghan Grubb: ACRE Residency and Installation
Meghan (Reynard) Grubb (MFA 2012) is an artist-in-residence at ACRE during the Summer 2013. As part of her residency, she has permanently installed the site-specific project Spiral Shanty. The project developed on site, incorporating wood timbers that had been salvaged from buildings in Chicago and stored at the rural Wisconsin property. The spiraling frame of the hut forms a twisting and tenuous, cocoon-like interior space, at once both comforting and uncertain. Founded in 2010, the ACRE residency program provides the arts community with an affordable, cooperative, and dialogue-oriented residency program.
