Matthew Zivich: War and Peace
War and Peace, a new exhibition of work completed by Matthew Zivich (BS Design 1960) during his recent sabbatical, is on display in Saginaw Valley State University’s campus gallery from Aug. 27 ‑Sept. 19, with a reception on Sept. 13. The paintings and drawings by Zivich, a Professor of Art at Saginaw Valley State University, are based on historical, military events dealing with past references that still hold social validity in our present times.
Professor Zivich also won a “People’s Choice Award” at the 2012 University of Michigan School of Art & Design Alumni Show, July 2012, for a painting that is a part of his “War and Peace” series.
