Making Science Visible at the Matthaei Botanical Garden
Stamps students in the art course entitled Making Science Visible, recently added to the beauty that exists at the Conservatory at the Matthaei Botanical Garden.
Under the guidance of instructor Seder Burns, the student collaborated with the team at Matthaei to create illustrations of plants that are located within the Conservatory. In addition, they focused on creating a new illustrated map of the Conservatory. Students were able to choose traditional or digital media for creating the pieces. The illustrations are designed to facilitate identification, so accuracy was paramount as the students created the new artwork.
Their work is currently on exhibit at the Conservatory, and there will be a closing reception on Sunday, April 7 from 2 — 4 p.m. for the artist.
