Joseph Keckler (BFA ‘04) is a singer, musician, writer, and artist acclaimed for his rich, versatile 3+ octave voice and sharp wit. In his latest book, Dragon at the Edge of a Flat World, Keckler combines fresh written narrative with familiar material from his performances. The book is due out from Dragon Point Press in November 2017.
In these tales, one can’t easily draw a line between reality, embellishment, and fantasy. In this world, you may board a familiar bus or train and find yourself in some shady netherworld, or skipping past midnight on New Year’s Eve.
“Joseph Keckler is a captivating raconteur, with a delicious ability to transform scenes of dread into comic triumph.” – Wayne Koestenbaum
Book launch and signing: Sunday, November 19 at 7 pm — Howl Gallery (6 E. 1st St., New York City). Visit josephkeckler.com/live/ for a full list of performances and readings, nationwide.
Keckler is offering signed, advance copies of the book to all who make tax-deductible donations to Fractured Atlas, an orgnaization that empowers artists, arts organizations, and other cultural sector stakeholders by eliminating practical barriers to artistic expression, so as to foster a more agile and resilient cultural ecosystem.
