John Marshall Co-Edits AXD Catalog

AXD

AXD is a yearlong, city-wide, multi-disciplinary series featuring 22 newly commissioned exhibitions, performances, and events developed by Kresge Artist Fellows, Gilda Award recipients, and Kresge Eminent Artists immersed throughout Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park to explore the changing landscape and narrative of the city and its neighborhoods. Stamps associate professor John Marshall served as co-editor of the AXD catalog. Alongside Cézanne Charles through their design studio rootoftwo, Marshall also served as a project coordinator for AXD.

On Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 6:30 pm, AXD will celebrate the successful run of 22 commissioned art projects by Kresge Artist Fellows and Gilda Award recipients in neighborhoods across Detroit, Highland Park and Hamtramck. The online presentation will coincide with the release of an eight-episode Living X Podcast — hosted by Ryan Myers-Johnson, Executive Director of Sidewalk Detroit — and the limited edition catalog available in print and digital formats.
