John Gutoskey: Queer Pop at Indianapolis Art Center
Third year MFA candidate John Gutoskey’s print, “Queer Pop”, was selected for inclusion in Art, Sex and Humor: Selections from the Kinsey Institute at the Indianapolis Art Center. Co-curated by the Art Center’s Exhibitions Department and Catherine Johnson-Roehr, Curator of Art, Artifacts, and Photographs at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. Art, Sex, and Humor examines the role of these issues in today’s society. Featuring work curated directly from the Kinsey Institute’s collection, this dynamic exhibit will challenge the viewer’s personal perceptions on what motivates artists to accept and embrace sex and humor in their work and to acknowledge the validity of risky subject matter in personal expression. “Queer Pop” recently entered the Kinsey Institute’s permanent collection after being selected for their 8th Annual Juried Art Show this past spring.
