Wagner’s award-winning work, “After the Snow” was inspired by the dynamic angles of the shadows cast by the strong sunlight after the first heavy snowfall last winter. She concentrated on showing depth and atmosphere by keeping distant objects darker and more muted in color, while highlighting certain elements with a warmer hue and greater detail.
The Great Lakes Pastel Society aims increase the public awareness and usage of pastels as a fine art medium. Wagner’s After the Snow can be viewed at their 2016 National Exhibit until July 16th, 2016.
