Introducing 2024-25 Stamps Welcome Leaders
The Stamps Welcome Leaders program connects students who are new on campus with returning students that can help them stay connected, engaged, and involved in the Stamps community. Each year, trained Welcome Leaders will engage regularly with new students, introducing them to U‑M and Stamps resources and the best of campus culture. Meet our 2024 – 25 Welcome Leaders below!
Charlotte Bertsch
Hello, my name is Charlotte Bertsch, and I am a senior here at Stamps. My art is primarily centered around textiles and ceramics, but I have tried almost every medium under the sun! In my spare time, I love to read, watch movies with my roommate, and play soccer.
Evelyn Chang
Hi! I am Evelyn Chang. I am from Birmingham, Michigan, and currently a sophomore at Stamps. Outside of the studio, I love to spend time with friends and family and travel.
Anna Chen
Hi, I’m Anna Chen, a sophomore Interarts Performance Major in Stamps, with a focus in portraiture, graphic design, and cosmetic arts. I’m originally from Delaware, but I spent most of my life in Beijing, China and Boston, MA. I’m into gaming, photography, and music critique — mainly on Hip-hop, K‑pop and R&B.
Clara Christopherson
Clara is a rising Senior at the Stamps School of Art & Design. After transferring to Stamps in fall 2023, she has since participated in Los Salseros Azules, a salsa club on campus, along with the FEAST program as an interdisciplinary student research assistant. She can’t wait to welcome all of the incoming students in Fall 2024.
Marie Hayward
Hi! My name is Marie, and I’m a junior at Stamps. I primarily focus on metalwork and illustration as my medium, but I love experimenting with character art, animation, and writing in my free time! I also explore campus and enjoy finding new and exciting places to hang out when I can.
Ellie Kooney
Hello, my name is Ellie Kooney and I am a Senior at U‑M Stamps School of Art & Design currently studying to receive a BFA. My focus in my practice is animation and graphic design work, but I also enjoy illustrative work for fun! I am a collaborative, motivated, friendly artist and person, and I look forward to what may be my final year at Stamps.
Lindsay Mehl
My name is Lindsay Mehl and I am a senior in Stamps with a focus in product design and development. I also experiment with fiber arts, photography, and fashion design. I am a member of Dance 2xs Michigan, a local Hip-Hop dance group and am passionate about all things design, music, and dance!
Emilio Rodriguez
Hello! My name is Emilio Rodriguez, I am from Canton, MI and I’m a junior at Stamps. I came into Stamps with a focus in illustration and graphic design, but have begun to shift towards an interest in textiles and garment design. I love to experiment with a wide range of artistic practices and express my queer/nonbinary identity through my work :)
Grace Sirman
Hi! I’m Grace Sirman, a current senior at Stamps with interests in visual development, character design, and visual development! I am interested in intertwining representation through storytelling on topics like disability and the Latiné experience.
Alyssa Stump
My name is Alyssa Stump, I’m a current Junior dual majoring in art and biology focusing on science illustration. In my freetime, I like to play trumpet in the UMICH orchestra and attend digipaint. I spent this last summer working in an aquarium and hope to make materials for wildlife institutions like Sea Life in the future.
Lynne Yoon
My name is Lynne Yoon, and I am a senior at Stamps on a BFA track with a double minor in entrepreneurship and UX design. My passion lies in visual storytelling and digital illustration, and I hope to pursue graphic design and branding in the future. I love trying new cuisines of food and love to be outside in nature, especially by the ocean!
