In Remembrance of Barbara Cassino
Longtime Waterloo, Iowa resident Barbara H. Cassino (BFA 1974, MFA 1977) retired Associate Professor of Art at the University of Northern Iowa, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2011 at Borgess Gardens nursing home in Kalamazoo, Mich. She was 80 years old. Professor Cassino was a passionate and talented teacher and nationally recognized ceramicist with an extensive and unique exhibition record. Born in Nutley, N.J., she completed her initial training at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York City, and later earned BFA and MFA degrees (with honors) at the University of Michigan.
