Holly Hughes Publishes “Animal Acts: Performing Species Today”
Animal Acts: Performing Species Today, co-edited by Professor Holly Hughes and Una Chaudhuri, Collegiate Professor of English at NYU, arrives in bookstores on January 24, 2014. This anthology includes unpublished performance texts by influential artists including Rachel Rosenthal, Deke Weaver, Carmelita Tropicana and Holly Hughes accompanied by commentaries by leading scholars in the fields of animal and performance studies including Donna Haraway, Larry La Fontaine, Jill Dolan, Cary Wolfe, and many others. The University of Michigan Press will also host video clips of many of the performances in excerpted form.
