Heidi Kumao Exhibits

Heidi Kumao’s recent work will be included in the group exhibition, ​“Cultural Transcendence” at the Wing Luke Asian Museum in Seattle, WA from Dec. 17, 2009 ‑June 2010. The show features new media work by Eunsu Kang, Brent Watanabe, Horatio Law, Robert Hodgin and Heidi Kumao. http://​www​.wingluke​.org

Kumao will be exhibiting a new video sculpture titled ​“Transplant.” ​“Transplant” explores the lives of Japanese nationals and citizens who were interned in War Relocation Centers during WWII and how they cultivated gardens as a creative outlet to survive their confinement.
