Heidi Kumao Exhibits in Australia

Stamps Associate Professor Heidi Kumaos Egress, a video installation about women who use books and a reading group as a temporary escape from an authoritarian government, has been shortlisted for the Australian ScreenGrab7 International Media Arts Award. 

The exhibition features artists from around the globe working with all forms of screen-based media, including multi-channel video, interactive media, digital illustration, audio sculpture, generative media and 2D and 3D animation and runs December 18, 2015 – January 28, 2016. The exhibition will be judged by Fiona Trigg (Assistant Curator, Australian Centre for the Moving Image – ACMI) who will also be announcing the winner of the major $10,000 prize.

The exhibition is presented by James Cook University’s Arts and Creative Media program in partnership with Pinnacles Gallery, Townsville City Council, Queensland, Australia.
