Gina Canter Becomes Owner of LA Art Framing Business

Gina Canter stands on the sidewalk in front of Allan Jeffries Framing in Los Angeles, a storefront under a red roof and awning.

In a few short years, Gina Canter (BA 17) went from learning about great artists in University of Michigan art history classes to framing their paintings and prints. Gina currently runs three locations of Allan Jeffries Framing, a prominent art framing business in Los Angeles, where she’s able to combine her talent for design with her love of art. Artists I learned about in class like Dali, Miro, and Picasso, I now get to work with on a everyday basis.”

For Gina, framing completes a work of art. A frame can complete a space in someone’s home while elevating and highlighting components in a painting. It’s really neat to see it all come together.” Gina encourages artists to frame their own work, and to ask their local frame store for an artist’s discount.
