In an interview with the Michigan Health Lab, Stamps Dean’s Advisory Council member Gene Rontal (MD 67) reminded medical students about to begin a new semester not to forget the important role that art and creativity can play in their success. Rontal also shared reflections from his own career and tips for students just starting their medical educations.

Rontal is an avid supporter of the arts and a novelist. His latest book, A Pre-Existing Condition, features a physician protagonist, Ben Dailey, who uncovers a criminal plot to access personal medical records.
