Emilia White accepts position at York University
Stamps Lecturer and alumna Emilia White (MFA ’12) has accepted a new position as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Integrative Arts at York University School of Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) in Toronto, Ontario.
The Integrative Arts program at York University combines artistic and technological skills with an emphasis on artistic and creative methodology, transdisciplinary study of the arts, and engagement in the creative industries, all taking place within a social justice and decolonial framework. The program responds to changing student demand and industry needs by facilitating individualized student pathways through the program and culminating in collaborative capstone projects.
Emilia has taught as a Lecturer at the Stamps School of Art & Design since 2015. She was one of the core faculty of the Interarts Performance program alongside Professor Holly Hughes, and taught animation alongside Professor Heidi Kumao, as well as other time-based media courses such as Studio 4D and Live Action Film and Animation. Emilia became the primary instructor of Social Spaces, and taught other creative process courses such as Second Year Studio and Integrative Project. Emilia graduated from the Stamps MFA program in 2012. She continues an active creative practice, which she is eager to expand during her new residence in Toronto: learn more on her website and Instagram (@redmustardwhite).
