Dale Francis Bogaski (BFA 1968, MFA 1971), of South Hampton, New Hampshire, died at home in his sleep of heart failure on June 62016.

Dale was born in Wyoming, Michigan on October 12, 1940 and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he earned both his Bachelors of Fine Art and Masters of Fine Art degrees. During that time Dale received two National Endowment for the Arts Grants and taught art at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. His exhibition record included solo and group shows in the states of California, Colorado, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Washington, Florida, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

Dale was fortunate enough to retire at the age of 55 from the University of California at Berkeley’s Recreational Sports Department where he left his mark by painting the murals at the Track & Field Stadium. After retirement Dale enjoyed exploring his art on a full-time basis.

Dale is survived by Adele Fiorillo, his wife and companion of 36 years, and many loving friends and extended family. A memorial service that will include a retrospective of Dale’s artwork is being planned for the future.

If you wish to memorialize Dale and his dedication to art and to the University of Michigan, donations may be sent to the Dale F. Bogaski Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan, 2055 Art & Architecture Building, 2000 Bonisteel Boulevard, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 – 2069.
