Clara Giles: Seva Corps

Seva Corps is a start-up non-profit, founded by UofM Alumni Shwetha Maddur. Seva is dedicated to the development of low-cost and non-electric medical devices to end preventable infant deaths in developing nations. Board Members Shwetha Maddur, Clara Giles (BFA 2014) and Michael Blackshear are working toward marketing and developing low-cost solutions along with Nidhi Shah, Vinita Talgaonkar and Naveen Sharma. The team consists of Material Science Engineers, Bio-Medical Engineers and a Graphic Designer.
As a start-up company, Seva Corps won first Place in the 2014 Purdue Big Sell Competition in Social Entrepreneurship and this years Tech Town Detroit Prize.
