Adrianne Finelli’s Film Screens at Festivals

Adrianne Finelli’s MFA thesis film, Too Soon Too Late, will be screening at the Big Muddy Film Festival this Friday, Feb 26 and at the DC Independent Film Festival, Friday, Mar 12.

“The Big Muddy Film Festival, based at Southern Illinois University, is the longest-running student-organized film festival in the United States. The Big Muddy is dedicated to supporting the work of emerging and accomplished filmmakers and video artists.”

Finelli’s film is in competition for Best Documentary at both fests.

Synopsis:
Too Soon Too Late explores family/​memory/​loss and the denial of our own dysfunction. Hushed stories, hidden letters and forgotten home movies interweave to reveal moments between the smiles of an ​“average” American family. This experimental documentary reworks found footage from the 1950s-1960s to pose questions about the cause of mood disorders in women of a bygone era.
