2009 Kresge Artists Fellowships

A&D lecturer Shiva Ahmadi and A&D alum Senghor Reid (BFA ​’99) are among the 18 recipients of the 2009 Kresge Artists Fellowships.

The Fellowships, each including a $25,000 prize funded by The Kresge Foundation, are awarded annually to visual, performing and literary artists and are the largest such awards available to individual artists in metropolitan Detroit.

The fellowships provide artists with the time and resources to explore, to experiment and to develop their work more fully over the year-long fellowship period. The fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis and the awardees were selected from hundreds of applications by a panel of distinguished local and national artists and arts professionals.
