Due to a variety of factors, the Stamps Gallery has decided to host the Envision Closing Reception & Award Ceremony celebration of Michigan artists in a virtual format.
This is the inaugural year of Envision: The Michigan Artist Initiative, a new awards program designed to support the development of contemporary artists living and working in Michigan. The five finalists and this year’s winner of the Envision Award were selected by jurors Carla Acevedo-Yates, Curator, MCA Chicago; Ken Aptekar (BFA’73), Artist; and Loring Randolph (BFA’04), Director, Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Collection.
Join us for the award ceremony and closing reception of Envision: The Michigan Artist Initiative at Stamps Gallery. The exhibition features new work by the five Envision finalists, artists Nayda Collazo-Llorens, Michael Dixon, Carole Harris, Kylie Lockwood, and Darryl DeAngelo Terrell.
Envision: The Michigan Artist Initiative is on view at Stamps Gallery from November 12, 2021 — January 22, 2022.
Stamps events are free and open to the public, and we are committed to making them accessible to all attendees. This event will be online using the Zoom platform with an auto-generated Live Transcript available. If you anticipate needing any additional accommodations to participate, please email Jennifer Junkermeier-Khan at jenjkhan@umich.edu at least one week in advance of the scheduled event so we can arrange for your accommodation or an effective alternative. After receiving your request, our team will follow up with you directly.
