The work in this show spans three projects. For the first, garments were created to be sent through the mail. The second challenge involved transforming existing clothing into new forms inspired by designer’s individual interests, which includes musical festivals and microscopic molecular structures. In the third group of work, artists worked with Witt Visiting Artist Mary Lum to create costumes of cubist city scenes, built /sewn/made dimensionally, in different planes, to go all the way around bodies. Other works from the ART/DES course Dressing Up & Down will be worn during an event at the exhibition’s closing reception on Thursday, November 1st, from 11:30 am — 12 pm.
