Prerequisites: ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 115: Studio: 2D, ARTDES 120: Studio: 3D, ARTDES 125: Studio: 4D.

Description: This course involves students in the making of interactive programs for creative expression. Generation of ideas, development of an algorithm, coding of the program, and testing the system are parts of the process; integration of the computer-based work with physical components is a further option. The course exposes students to programmable technologies as media for personal creative expression. Students learn basics of software and hardware programming through multiple workshops emphasizing experimentation and exploration of computational & interactive media. The course also exposes students to examples of historic and contemporary technology-based art & design practices.

Frequency: This course is typically offered in every winter term as well as in the fall term of even-numbered years, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
