Description: In this class students design and develop a conceptually cohesive textile collection to industry standards, which should have an intended practical application such as interior design, apparel, accessories, etc. Students research their concept in-depth, and produce a client brief, market research, and appropriate branding, in support of their collections. While the course emphasizes conceptualization and design, students are expected to produce at least one piece from their collections. Students also work on a sponsored project with a visiting designer.Frequency: This course is typically offered in the fall term of odd-numbered years, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
