Video Diaries

Prerequisites: All OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 200: Any 200 Level Studio.

Description: Video diaries have become the dominant form of sharing personal experiences on various social media platforms. Course projects incorporate personal reflection, questioning, and critique within contextual footage that gives depth and/​or social relevance to chosen subjects. Assigned readings, films, research, and critical discussions expand students’ knowledge of contemporary artists, filmmakers, and social media personalities and provide conceptual suggestions and technical information for students to develop their video diaries to share on the platform of their choosing.

Frequency: This course is typically offered in the fall term of even-numbered years, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
