Digital Image Making

ARTDES 340.001, Fall 2024

Details

Credit Hours: 3
Semester: Fall 2024

Prerequisites: All OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 200: Any 200 Level Studio.

Description: With the stunning proliferation of visual imagery we encounter every day — most of it digital –- it is imperative that artists and designers understand how these images are made, disseminated, and consumed. Using a range of digital image making tools – software and hardware – students will learn to capture, draw, paint, appropriate, collage, and produce sophisticated images that convey particular messages and evoke intended responses. Students will build on skills learned in introductory courses to gain experience with a broader range of tools and techniques in order to convey their chosen subject matter with more depth, sophistication, and impact. Textbooks will not be required, but students will need to purchase specific software and hardware tools as determined by the instructor.

Frequency: This course is offered occasionally in the fall term.
