Prerequisites: All OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 200: Any 200 Level Studio.

Description: This is a Stamps academic course and will not fulfill studio requirements. This course is designed as a series of practical workshops and lively conversations with recent alums and art & design professionals. Students will pinpoint relevant creative career opportunities and develop the skills and materials to pursue those opportunities. Depending on their interests, students will research internships, employment, freelance and entrepreneurial ventures, exhibitions, performances and creative residencies. We’ll work collaboratively on essential confidence building tools including developing professional networks and creative community, honing portfolios, resumes and correspondence, crafting well considered web presences, and sharpening interview and presentation skills. We’ll also cover basics related to freelancing and financial literacy. Come ready to roll up your sleeves with a brown bag lunch, a sense of humor and imagination.

Frequency: This course is typically offered in the fall term of every academic year, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
