Art and Design in Context - Discussion

ARTDES 150.007, Fall 2024

Details

Credit Hours: 1
Semester: Fall 2024

Prerequisites: No Prerequisites.

Description: At Stamps, you are encouraged to find your voice as makers through experimentation across media in both art and design — to engage as makers in the ampersand of art & design. Our course, ARTDES 150, draws from that distinctly Stamps approach to making in an academic course focused on theory and criticism through examples that are foundational to how artists and designers conceptualize their work. Our lectures and discussion sections examine a particular aspect of relevant theory or criticism, such as a specific writer’s theories, challenges to those concepts, or applicability in contemporary art and design.

Frequency: This course is typically offered in the fall term of every academic year, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
