Lover

A video (component) filmed using a laparoscopic camera capturing the insides and surfaces of the artist’s body. The magnified abstracted visuals of the human body suggest terrestrial and volcanic qualities, while also evoking the alchemistic processes of cremation. Using mirroring and layering techniques, the video offers a generative optical blurring of lines between land and body – where each subsumes the material characteristics and behavioural tendencies of the other.
