Lover

A video (component) of the artist performing at and with live volcanic sites in Indonesia. Proposing volcanoes as sentient territories, he stages choreographic conversations between a living human body and a living terrestrial body. Using mirroring and layering techniques, the video offers a generative optical blurring of lines between land and body – where each subsumes the material characteristics and behavioural tendencies of the other.
