I took a trip to the MoMA with my family and a friend, a year ago on Thanksgiving break. The reference image for my etching was a still from a video my sister took of the hanging jellyfish sculptures that were on exhibit at the time, from the third floor. The refulgent shaft of sunlight coming through the large windows opposite us made the space feel as though I was simultaneously inside and outside it; I also felt like I was looking from (or into) a submarine or fish tank rather than a building. The spatial uncertainty of the image interested me, and so I made an etching of it. As an etching, I think the interior planes of the building (windows, walls, floors, stairs, cutout spaces) appear like panels of an unconventional comic; you can try navigating this etched image as you would a comic strip.
