Just like the sour garnish on a sweet cocktail, contrast is what breathes life into something. With the photography triptych, "After Hours," I wanted to capture the numb and blank state of extreme loneliness that one falls into after experiencing the adrenaline rush of partying and intoxication. Knowing that it's not a feeling that one can simply replicate, I photographed these while in a similar state myself, after coming home from a party on Halloween night.
For these photographs, I was especially inspired by The Weeknd's album of the same name, which often saw him pairing lush, synth-pop & dance-pop instrumentals with soulful and poignant R&B lyrics, like "Save Your Tears."
