Expressive students laughing and talking amongst one another in a school hallway, with lockers decorated. Among the students, there is a dark and looming figure-head attached to a snake neck listening into one of the groups of students' conversations. Unlike the students' expressions, the figure-head attached to the snake neck's expression is more serious and intent on eavesdropping into a conversation.

Nosiness

Set in an environment where there are constant social interactions, there is a snake that can be seen looming through a crowd of people- a reminder of how there is always the possibility that someone is listening into your conversations with others. This piece explores the idea of nosiness and how that can lead to the spreading of rumors or information that you do not want shared amongst others. Although this idea is presented in a school hallway, nosiness is not limited to that setting, but rather goes beyond and can be found in all aspects of life, such as social media and other public spaces. Representing nosiness as a dark and looming figure-head attached to a snake neck, it reveals how someone can snake their way through conversations and moments, quietly wrapping themselves around words that were never meant for them to hear. This contrasts the open environment within the piece, with groups of people spread out, talking amongst themselves, conveying a desire for a world where voices can be shared without the constant presence of eavesdropping lurking nearby.
