This piece uses the method of plaster casting using silver metal and a real tree branch. The main focus of the piece is the triangular purple stone at the base., with two smaller and different purple toned stones in order to compliment the purple hues in the larger stone. This piece looks at the beauty of nature and how natural found forms can express balance. I chose to cast a branch in order to add a level of texture that cannot be found through handmade or computer molded pieces. In this necklace the stones which are placed across the piece create a sense of harmony. With the combination of the bright silver metal, the dark purple stones, and the branches texture, I hope to express both the simplicity, yet complexity of the natural form.
