On the inside of an altarpiece seven women are depicted in different niches on a panel in the center is my grandmother with my aunt and mother flanking her. They’re surrounded by symbols that represent there qualities and above their niche are their favorite flowers. That are surrounded by gold leaf, similarly to the halos that surround the women’s heads.

Many stories start with an introduction of gods inspiring and worthy of adoration. The women on my mom's side of the family were like that for me. I stood in awe of them, they shaped who I was and who I wanted to be just by being near me. I represent my grandma and aunts, surrounded by symbols of power, and above each is a flower that represents other aspects of them. Using the traditional form of an altarpiece, I depicted the women i stood in awe of growing up as the pantheon of my childhood.
