The image above shows an image of my twin sister and I in a hallway of trees at a blueberry farm in Traverse city Michigan. This image is cut into half inch strips and woven together with a Jacquard loom in an abstract leafy pattern inspired by the patterns my mom uses to decorate our living room.

Home Sweet Home

Jacquard woven fabric print

Undergraduate
A piece woven during my second year of university, when homesickness felt most acute. It shows an image of my twin sister and me at home in Traverse City, Michigan, printed on a fabric material that was then cut into half-inch strips. I used a jacquard loom to create an abstract pattern inspired by the fabrics my mom uses to decorate our living room; these familiar textures become visual echoes of home and serve as a reminder of family during tough times at school.
