Through making this book, I wanted to illustrate a lost relationship to fresh produce and homemade food that is seen more in today's contemporary world. One of the concepts I was most interested in was seasonal growing, when are things harvested/distributed and how does that impact our consumption. Each quadrant shows one of the seasons in a backyard garden, expanding out with the accordion pages to display a selection of fruits and vegetables commonly grown or harvested during that time (depending on the region). The background collage features recipes from family members and friends that use fruits and vegetables, sourced directly from my parents' pantry.
