Momotaro, also known as Peach Boy, is a story that follows the brave warrior along his quest to defeat ogres and return home with their treasures. Momotaro stands as a symbol of courage and bravery in Japan.
The story begins with Momotaro being born from a giant peach. He was later discovered floating down a river by a childless woman. His appearance in the story was portrayed to be a divine intervention; a blessing for the family who took him in to raise.
This print was inspired by and aims to portray the grandness but also tranquility of the beginning of the Momotaro folktale.
