An oil painting depicting a collage of Hoover Tower in Palo Alto, CA; a red and white striped piece of fabric; a glass cup; two angels; and a pear. The different elements are overlapping and blending into each other to show a sense of cohesion and connectedness throughout the piece.

Exquisite Corpse explores the fluid nature of memory through the interplay of oil paint and collage. In this piece, portions of images and abstract forms are used to represent the disjointed and often fragmented way we recall past experiences. Each element was chosen as it evoked a specific memory or feeling from my life; living in multiple states, having fleeting relationships, and striving for academic success. The result is a visual dialogue between the physical and emotional — where the boundaries of past and present overlap, creating a layered narrative that invites the viewer to reflect on their own personal history and the shifting nature of memory.
