YOU KNOW MORE THAN YOU THINK

You Know More Than You Think is an immersive, multidisciplinary exploration of self-discovery during a global crisis. Through video documentary, physical artwork, and hand-crafted costumes made from thrifted materials, Ervin shares the transformative journey she experienced at 17 during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the quiet isolation of lockdown, freed from pressures and expectations, she found space to listen to her intuition and create without hesitation. This unexpected pause became an open door, allowing her to embrace change and her natural curiosity. However, this did not come without facing the reality of nationwide news and academia returning later in quarantine. While deeply personal, this project reflects a universal experience. The pandemic left many lost in fear and separation, but it gave her a silver lining: the opportunity to connect with her inner spirit and explore personal and artistic sides without boundaries. Through her reenactment of the pandemic, each moment marks a milestone of growth and resilience. She hopes to inspire her audience to reflect on their approach to life and trust their quiet inner knowing—the kind that emerges when we let go of expectations and open ourselves to what’s already within us.
