Remember the feeling of boundless imagination as a child? The magic of enchanted forests and talking animals? That unbridled creativity, that sense of wonder? As I’ve grown older, I’ve noticed a societal shift where creative pursuits once celebrated become sidelined in the "serious" world of adulthood, often dismissed as frivolous. This project reclaims that lost magic. The What-If? Kitchen is a large-scale interactive installation that explores the importance of sustained imagination in adulthood. Inspired by my own battle with dwindling creativity and a lifelong enchantment with the food depicted in books and movies, I’ve created a cardboard and paper maché fantasy kitchen filled with imaginative food packaging and evidence of fictional small creatures. The process involved a lot of physical experimentation with hands-on crafting and world-building that resulted in this tangible and immersive experience. The space is designed for active engagement; viewers are invited to explore, touch, and pick up objects within. Every small detail is meant to spark a new "what if?" – a reminder of the endless imaginative possibilities held within this world.
