Welcome to the world of Astoria Preparatory Academy! As the ivy comes in nicely on the outside of these historic halls, lies and deceit take hold of everyone inside them. Trouble is seeping through every classroom and the administration is determined to put a stop to it. You are convinced that some of your fellow Astoria Prep community members are blackmailing students for their wrong doings! To find the truth, gossip may be your best asset. In the social deduction game, players are invited to use gossip “techniques” to stop the rumors running rampant and catch the liars spreading them. I’ve decided to take a socially negative concept and change its purpose because I believe that gossip shouldn’t be taboo. Everyone has taken part in this type of communication at least once whether they like to admit it or not, so it’s important to step away from the critical lens that society can implement. Gossip can facilitate important social functions and be advantageous in forming stronger relationships.
